Hill Country Foodworks is expanding its manufacturing capabilities in Lockhart through the purchase of specialized onion processing equipment that will increase production capacity and support growing demand and future business opportunities. The expansion represents another milestone in the company's continued investment in the Lockhart community.

To support the project, the Lockhart Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) approved a performance-based manufacturing equipment grant of up to $179,500. The funding will assist with the purchase of the new equipment and supports Hill Country Foodworks' continued growth while advancing the LEDC's mission of encouraging business expansion, capital investment, and job creation in Lockhart.

As part of the performance agreement, Hill Country Foodworks will invest at least $300,000 in new manufacturing equipment, create three new full-time jobs, and continue expanding operations at its 50,000 square-foot facility located at 2605 DeWitt Street. The company currently employs 90 people and has committed to maintaining a minimum annual payroll of $2 million.

Hill Country Foodworks has become an important part of Lockhart's growing food manufacturing industry, helping food businesses scale production while creating quality manufacturing jobs locally. This latest investment reinforces the company's long-term commitment to Lockhart and supports continued growth within one of the community's key industries.
