Spare Change Restaurant LLC has officially opened its 3,500-square-foot restaurant at 113 N. Main Street in downtown Lockhart, following a $700,000 investment in building improvements, equipment, and build-out.
The restaurant has created 10 new full-time jobs, supporting a minimum annual payroll of $390,000. These positions contribute to downtown Lockhart’s economic vitality by expanding employment opportunities and enhancing the city’s food and hospitality offerings.
The LEDC approved a performance agreement to support the project, tied to milestones such as the Certificate of Occupancy, commencement of operations, and hiring of new employees. The project aligns with LEDC’s 2023 Targeted Business Strategy by activating underutilized buildings, promoting new business growth, and supporting the local economy.
Spare Change’s new location strengthens downtown Lockhart as a vibrant destination for dining, culture, and small business development. Additional updates on events and community engagement will be shared as the restaurant grows its presence in the city.
