Lockhart, Tex. – Irby Construction Company, a premier transmission construction company based out of Richland, MS, has expanded to Lockhart, Texas, just 30-minutes southeast of downtown Austin. The new facility includes 14,000 square feet (SF), of which 4,000 SF is office space and 10,000 SF is warehouse. The Lockhart facility will begin with eight employees in the office who will be supporting over 200 employees in the Texas market. Due to the boom in energy infrastructure projects, Irby expects to continue hiring employees over the next 10 years to support expected growth. The leased facility is located at 1406 Blackjack Street, Lockhart, Texas, 78644.
“We’re looking forward to our new operations in the BBQ Capital of Texas, Lockhart,” said Andre Foster, Executive Director of Business Development for Irby Construction. “The access to future-focused infrastructure, an abundant and skilled workforce, and business friendly climate of the community made the decision to locate in Lockhart easy. We’re excited to engage with and support the Lockhart and Caldwell County community as one of its newest corporate citizen.”
Serving as the Caldwell County seat, Lockhart is designated by the Texas Legislature as the BBQ Capital of Texas and has served as the filming location for several movies and TV shows, including HBO’s The Leftovers and Michael Bay’s Transformers: Age of Extinction. Irby Construction’s Lockhart site will be home to clients servicing the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) and others in central Texas.
“Lockhart has tremendous growth potential thanks to our proximity to Austin and San Antonio, superior highway infrastructure including the SH-130 Toll, skilled talent from nearby universities and technical training institutions, and historic charm in a revitalized downtown that provides the comfort of a small town with the amenities of a big city,” said Lew White, Mayor of the City of Lockhart. “We welcome Irby Construction Company to the area and are confident that they are going to be an excellent fit with our community.”
There will be an open house for the public at the new location on Wednesday, December 6th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information about the event, contact Sara Rogers at firstname.lastname@example.org .
