Utilities

Electricity is supplied by the City of Lockhart or Bluebonnet Electric Co-op. Cost details for City of Lockhart Electric Utility can be found on the City of Lockhart website, here.

Gas comes from Central Texas Gas.

The City of Lockhart provides water and wastewater services. Pricing details can be found here for water and here for sewage. Here are the Fire Hydrant/Water Meter fees. The two primary water supplies for Lockhart come from the Wilcox Aquifer blended with surface water from the San Marcos River.

The city also provides once-a-week trash pick-up.

Infrastructure

Lockhart is served by 3 state highways - SH 142, SH 130, SH 20 and U.S. 183 with connections to Interstates 35 and 10.

The Lockhart Municipal Airport, owned by the city, features a 4000’ x 75’ main runway and hanger facilities on 90 acres. 128 acres surround the airport. Some of that acres, owned by the city is permanently obligated for aviation-related business and cannot be sold but may be leased for more information contact Sean Kelley, Public Works Director here.

The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is 26 miles north of Lockhart.

Lockhart and Caldwell County are served by freight rail from Union Pacific Rail. Amtrak passenger service is available in Austin.
