As part of the Austin metro, Lockhart is centrally located for regional and national markets and has access to a labor pool consisting of nearly 60,000 talented manufacturing employees within a 45-minute drive time, along with some of the most competitive wages in the region.

Coming Soon: Tesla, Inc. Lands in Austin

The state of Texas is now officially home to the new Tesla vehicle assembly plant where the renowned and highly innovative company will build its Cybertruck, Semi Truck, and Model Y. The 2,000+ acre site is located near the Austin International Airport, approximately 30 minutes north of Lockhart. With it, this new plant brings an evolution in the supply chain, with tier 2 and 3 auto parts suppliers looking to locate in the areas surrounding the plant. Lockhart is a prime choice with our proximity to Austin and major transportation outlets, as well as available industrial sites highly suitable for the construction of new manufacturing facilities.

From 2010 to 2020, the Food and Beverage Processing industry has grown 14% nationally.

Across the nation, the demand for healthy, fresh, organic, local and ready-to-eat alternatives has steadily increased. This demand has fueled the growth of the food and beverage processing industry, with breweries, wineries and distilleries showing the strongest growth. With our ample water supply, proximity to regional and national markets, as well as easy access to agricultural products, it’s no surprise that businesses like Hill Country Foodworks have found success here in Lockhart.

Logistics and Distribution

Lockhart’s central location and positioning along SH-130 provide quick access to I-10 and I-35, and easy access to Austin, San Antonio, and other major Texas metros, making us a natural location for distribution centers. This central positioning and proximity to major roadways allow businesses to capitalize on the ever-growing demands of shorter delivery times. Lockhart also offers large, flat industrial sites, easing the site-selection process.
