Elementary and Secondary Levels

Lockhart ISD has approximately 6,193 students in a 300-square-miles in Central Texas. We are located on State Highway 130 on the edge of one of the fastest growing regions of Texas.

Designated as a “District of Innovation” in 2017, the district is on an exciting trajectory for higher student achievement and enriched opportunities for success. In recent years, our district has experienced significant and record student growth as families from surrounding areas move to Lockhart .

Our 9 campuses include an early education pre-kindergarten campus, 5 elementary schools, a junior high school serving grades 6-8, a self-paced program high school, and a comprehensive, 5A high school. Our schools offer students extensive opportunities to experience and find what they love as learners, including a full range of extracurricular and co-curricular activities and dual credit college and advanced placement courses. Our LISD Visionary Instructional Planning (LISD VIP) initiative leverages technology in the district to boost student learning and prepare them for a world and workforce experiencing a rapidly-evolving technological revolution.
